Tyler Herro added 18 PTS, 8 REB and 3 AST for the Heat in the victory, while Jayson Tatum tallied 29 PTS, 8 REB and 6 AST for the Celtics. The Heat lead this best-of-seven series 1-0.

Butler scored a playoff career-high 45 points, including a personal 7-0 run down the stretch to decide the game, and the Heat held off the Atlanta Hawks 115-105 in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference first-round series Tuesday night.

Hawks: Atlanta had three players (Hunter, Huerter and Bogdanovic) with three fouls by halftime for only the second time this season. The other was Jan. 14 - also at Miami. ... Among the adjustments the Hawks tried: Collins started Game 2, and Huerter opened the game guarding Lowry.

Heat: Duncan Robinson, who made eight 3's and scored 27 points in Game 1, went without a shot in seven minutes. ... Soccer legend David Beckham was in attendance. ... Going back to the end of the regular season, Miami is 8-1 in its last nine games. ... Miami is now 5-1 against Atlanta this season.

Led by Jimmy Butler’s 21 PTS, 6 REB, 4 AST and 3 STL, the No. 1 seed Heat defeated the No. 8 seed Hawks in Game 1, 115-91. Duncan Robinson added a Playoff career-high 27 PTS, including a Heat Playoff franchise record 8 3pt FGM (8-9) in the victory, while Trae Young tallied 8 PTS (1-12 FG, 0-7 3pt FG), 6 REB and 4 AST for the Hawks. The Heat lead this best-of-seven First Round series 1-0.

The Miami Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-106 in Game 5 to win the 2012 NBA Finals.

“It was a journey for myself,” said James, who became the 10th player — and first since San Antonio’s Tim Duncan in 2003 — to win regular season and Finals MVP. “All the ups and downs, everything that came along with it, I had to basically figure it out on my own. I’m happy now nine years later since I’ve been drafted that I can finally say that I’m a champion, and I did it the right way. I didn’t shortcut anything. I put a lot of hard work and dedication in it, and hard work pays off. It’s a great moment for myself.”

Wade message for James - “I’m proud of him,” Wade, the 2006 NBA Finals MVP, said of his close friend, James. “He really took being the best player in the league to another level, and he did it all season long, man. Thanks to him, we’re able to celebrate once again.”
